The success of FCS at the Rip Curl Pro Bells 2013

Adriano De Souza has made history by becoming the first Brazilian male surfer to win the prestigious Rip Curl Pro at Bells Beach, Victoria. In what was a truly polished performance, Adriano consistently posted scores in the excellent range riding a 5’11” DHD surfboard and FCS PG-5 Carbon fins, eventually defeating Californian, and fellow FCS team rider, Nat Young in the final.

Surfing's stars shine at World Surfing Awards

The world’s best surfers congregated last night at the QT Hotel in Surfers Paradise to celebrate the 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards, officially crowning last year’s ASP World Champions and welcoming in the new year.
Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, long considered to be a threat to the ASP World Title ever since his inception amongst the world’s elite over a decade ago, was awarded his maiden crown last night. Amidst a capacity crowd of the world’s best surfers and hometown supporters, the Gold Coast stalwart brought the house down with a heartfelt and emotional speech.

Dredging taking tubes from Whangamata Bar

After independently monitoring The Bar under the guidance of surveyors and coastal process scientists, local members of Surfbreak Protection Society and WBA believe there is a correlation between the deterioration of the waves and the periodic dredging of the access channel brought about by the opening of the Whangamata Marina in 2009. The WRC and the Whangamata Marina Society think differently and say there is no evidence to support the surfers claims.
