The SB19 was conceptualised from wanting a little more from our ever popular and versatile SB9 model.
Initially designed in 2019 as a modernised all round shortboard, we took the neutral rocker and versatility of the SB9 increasing the overall width while moving the wide point forward of center creating more stability and paddle power under the chest. To compliment this we increased the tail lift and double concave rolling through the fins to provide pivot and freedom of movement for the rider. The thickness was ever so slightly increased through the centerline and chest for paddle power and off the mark momentum in the varying range of NZ conditions, while the rails remained tuned and refined for sensitivity and performance.
Its neutral design offers reliabilty in both point break and beach break waves, and is equally proven at driving through a rail turn at speed, as it is generating speed in waves that struggle to offer any.
The most popular go to shortboard in our range for the modern day surfer.
Available in both PU and EPS Epoxy construction.
Construction Material
PU (Polyurethane)
PU refers to the type of foam core which has been traditionally used in the manufacture of surfboards since the late 40's and early 50's.
This core has been glassed with polyester resins to produce surfboards of varying size and weights.
PU is still the most common form of construction as it offers a familiar feel and performance for most surfers.
